Travel Strong : Ending with NYC & Charleston

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Since the hustle and bustle (and pressure) of the holidays are basically over, I have some time to sit down and write a little about what’s been on my mind. I am currently sitting with my brother watching Muppet Christmas Carol waiting for our parents – yes I realize it’s the day after Christmas. Boxing Day as some may call it. For my family, it’s the day we open our gifts and have our own Christmas. (We host Christmas Day, so we don’t get much time to ourselves.) Hey, it extends the holiday, so I’m not complaining. More family time. No work. Rest and relax! Yes please.

But my year isn’t over. I have two more trips ahead of me. My family and I are headed to New York City in a few days, and then I head to Charleston for New Years Eve/Day and then some. In Charleston, I’m meeting up with AD & C and staying with friends. WAHOO! While it will be cold in both places, I’m excited to end my year off with my family, good friends, then in my favorite place (Charleston). There are no complaints about my 2017.

The other day AD asked me how many places I traveled this year. 19 cities. 14 trips (plus 5 more to my beach). 3 countries. 2 continents. And with that information, I realize my travel game was strong this year. My Thailand trip opened doors to new experiences and new cultures that I plan to continue very soon into 2018. I saw some new places and revisited some old ones. I learned new things about myself and met new people along the way. The goal was to grow, and I continue to do so. 2017 was definitely a celebratory year!

So, while I’m travel bound to finish out the year, I hope to get a few more posts up to share my appreciations, what I’m grateful for and what my hopes are for the new year.
