ENJOY
en·joy
/inˈjoi,enˈjoi/
verb
1. take delight or pleasure in (an activity or occasion).
2. possess and benefit from.
After some deep thought and discussion with AD, I determined my “2018 Word”. ENJOY! The thought process behind this word was ‘I hope to “find JOY EN [sic] everything I do”. During my flight to Charleston for New Years, I had some time to journal and think about where I would go this year and where I wanted to be a year from now. I also ended my yesr with reflecting on some major accomplishments I have made over the last twelve months. I’m pretty darn proud of myself ☺️
In the midst of thing journaling, I came up with a few other words I thought might be good ‘new year words’. STRONG. LOVE. But I felt more of a connection with ENJOY!
Ultimately, I wrote down a number of different things I currently enjoy or think I would find joy in. I want to explore all and even more throughout this year. Are you ready to enjoy my journey?
- Traveling
- Running
- Athletics/working out
- Volleyball
- Blogging
- Hosting (i.e. parties)
- Cooking
- Baking
- A job I enjoy
- Hanging out with friends
- Exploring
- Trying new things, including new foods, recipes and going new places
- Socializing *I want to work on engaging more (and have already scheduled meet ups with 2 new friends!)
- Beach trips
- Journaling
- Helping others (joining another volunteer program, in addition to cuddling)
- Learning (have been thinking about more schooling for a while)
- Dancing
- Planning
- Family time
- The occasionally TV show on my tiny TV
- Constructing and crafting
- Taking some time for myself (especially when I am on overload for others 90% of the time)
The list could go on and on, but I will leave you these things. As I mentioned, it is a combination of existing things and things I hope to do/find that bring me joy! I have my eyes set one a few in particular, but will remain patient and hopeful (and joyful).
Here’s to ENJOYING life and everything it has to offer.
