Matt’s Fish Camp, Bethany Beach DE

My first food post – yay!

Have you ever danced (in your seat) through an entire meal? Or couldn’t sit still because you’re wiggling from head to toe because of the deliciously goodness on your plate? What about saying “Hmmm” “ahhh” and “yummm” after every bite of food, while smiling ear to ear?

Well, if you haven’t, you’re really missing out! ?

If you have, then you know exactly the feeling in referring to when I talk about eating at Matt’s Fish Camp in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

After coming to Bethany Beach all my life, you start running out of places to eat. Things stay pretty much the same, or they don’t make it through the summer. But you have your staples – Grotto Pizza. And Mickey’s crab house, too. Plus who doesn’t like to grill out and have a relaxing dinner at home? My family sure does! We rarely eat out after all these years.

A couple years ago, I came down to the beach to get away from the hustle and bustle of NoVA and decided to try a new spot – not new to the area, just new to me. Matt’s Fishcamp. It was a restaurant my family had talked about trying; we just never had the chance. Since I was alone and ready for something new, I drove over to Matt’s to have dinner…and I never looked back!

Matt’s has some of the best food I have ever tasted. There is no doubt in my mind why Matt’s makes my top 5 favorite restaurants. Local foods. Daily specials. Fresh caught seafood. Delicious and decadent desserts. Geez, my mouth is watering!

There is so much to love about Matt’s. I love that they use local farmers and fisherman. I love that their food is farm/sea to table fresh. I love the friendly staff. And I love seeing what they’re daily specials are – OMG! Can’t wait to go back.

Recently, my mom and I ventured to the beach and made it very clear “we WILL be eating at Matt’s!” Since I’ve made it a point to eat there every time I’m in town, the staff knows me when I come in. I feel like a super star ??

So, remember that feeling I mentioned earlier? The wiggling in my chair, “yumm” with every bite. That experience was because three simple foods. Salmon. Cabbage. Potatoes.

Delicious. The salmon was melt in your mouth good. The balance of flavors of the entire dish were on point. It was just the right amount of food…it took all out of me not to order the same dish on Night 2 at Matt’s.

It should also be known that they make the most perfect french fries I’ve ever tasted. And if you dip them in the cinnamon butter that is actually meant for the rolls, you’ve got yourself one of the most amazing combinations I’ve ever tasted. Sure, you’ve got your almond butter to your jelly. Sauce to your meatballs. Bacon on everything! But you haven’t tasted goodness until you’ve had Matt’s fries and cinnamon butter.

I may be drooling…

So, I‘d highly recommend you make a trip to Bethany Beach in the near future, specifically to visit Matt’s Fish Camp. And don’t forget to stop by the my beach and see why I call it my safe haven and home.
